For nearly 30 years, I carried the weight of an “incurable” skin disorder. It wasn’t just a physical condition—it was a relentless reminder of pain, frustration, and isolation.

And when I say I tried everything -- I mean I tried everything.

Natural remedies, supplements, detoxes, endless products promising relief. I even booked a trip to Hawaii because a dermatologist told me the sun might help my skin condition.

But nothing truly worked.

I refused to give up.

Returning to steroid drugs wasn’t an option, as I knew they were taxing my liver. I detoxed, studied wholistic health, and turned over every stone in search of answers.

But it wasn’t until my 40s that I realized the truth:

My ailment wasn’t just physical. It was emotional, spiritual, and deeply rooted in my traumatic past.

MY FIRST A-HA MOMENT

At 20, I lost three significant men in my life within a two year period. My heart shattered. My psyche fractured. I was alone in a big city for college, suicidal, and unable to process the immense grief.

I suppressed it all.

A year before the losses, I was diagnosed with the skin disorder that would go on to haunt me for decades. Anxiety attacks began soon after, though I didn’t even know what they were at the time.

Do you ever feel like your body is carrying the weight of unresolved trauma?

I, honestly, never looked at it from that perspective til much later in my healing journey.

My journey into wholistic healing began when my mother handed me a few books on herbs and juicing. Over the years, I tried every natural remedy I could find, but nothing brought lasting relief.

However, for some reason, I held onto those books til this day.

RETURNING TO MY ROOTS

By 30, I decided to get certified in wholistic health. I learned about the toxicity in our food, the bureaucracy of the health industry, and the power behind those words: “let food be thy medicine.”

But even then, food alone wasn’t enough to heal me. Probably because our food is laden with toxic chemicals.

That’s when I turned to something I had loved since I was 14: astrology. My birth chart held the key to understanding myself—and my condition—on a deeper level.

THE ALCHEMICAL CONNECTION

I discovered that my Venus in Scorpio revealed the depth of my grief, how deeply I feel things that cut through my heart, and its impact on my ability to create (the yoni).

My Mercury-ruled planets explained my chronic anxiety and its ties to my nervous system.

And my Chiron in Aries in the 8th house pointed to a deep subconscious Core wound around self-love and identity.

These insights shifted everything. I began to see my condition as a reflection of my inner world—a call to heal not just my body, but my mind and spirit.

THE PLANT DOCTORS

This realization led me deeper into herbalism, and eventually, into esoteric herbalism. I learned that plants aren’t just physical remedies—they’re initiators into the next level of consciousness.

Take eucalyptus, for example. It thrives in harsh conditions and yields an abundance of essential oils—the plant’s very essence. Eucalyptus became one of my greatest teachers (and Plant Doctor), helping me navigate the harshness of my own past and bringing light to the shadowy corners of my soul.
