If everyday is an opportunity to use our magick, then doesn't it make sense to amplify its potency by creating a magickal temple? Your home isn’t just a place to raise your kids, prepare meals, or even a nest to get those much needed zzzz’s. Your home is a sacred space for magick to work through you, so you can bring your inner vision into the manifest world. Your home should be a ritual.
In this article I will share with you the pillars of turning your home into a magickal temple and some of the recommendations might surprise you! From knowing who you are to creating vignettes, your magickal temple will be like no one else's home! This is why you should stop trying to decorate your home with just inspiration from other people's homes, because their homes reflect their magick, not yours!
WHY CREATE A MAGICKAL HOME?
Your home is a reflection of your inner world. When you look at your home from this perspective, it becomes quite obvious why your life is the way it is. And this has nothing to do with money. You don’t need loads of cash or even an interior designer to create a home that is magickal AND make it a reflection of who you are and who you are becoming. In fact, I am not a fan of mass marketed furniture, especially when it includes staying on top of “the trends”.
From flea markets to thrift stores and resale shops, you can beautify your space on any budget. You should want your home to be filled with abundance, yet that doesn’t mean just fill it with a bunch of random stuff. Everything you choose to place in your space carries a vibration. This includes clutter.
Clutter has a low vibration, but all clutter is not created equally (at least from a vibrational perspective). Clutter is what collects dust, isn’t organized, and really serves little to no purpose in your life. It’s literally there to catch the dust bunnies, which leads to uncleanliness.
However, if you’re anything like me (maximalist) I love to surround myself with beautiful things everywhere! Perhaps it’s because I am prone to negative thinking and the sense of sight always uplifts my mood. This is why I LOVE creating altars; I get to create vignettes with all my beautiful things. It truly is one of my all time favorite past times.
WHAT MAKES A SPACE HIGH VIBRATIONAL?
A high vibrational temple is a sanctuary of good vibes. You’ll know your space has good vibes when you feel good; your residents are peaceful, abundance is apparent, and you’re in good health.
You’ll also know your space is high vibrational when you feel inspired, creative, energized, and motivated to achieve your goals.
As you likely know, everything is energy and all energy is a vibration.
-
If you want to feel more love in your life, allow the vibration of love to fill your temple.
-
If you want to feel more confidence in your life, allow the vibration of confidence to be represented in your temple.
-
If you want to feel more creative, allow the vibration of creativity to be represented in your temple.
6 WAYS TO ADD THE HIGH VIBES TO YOUR TEMPLE:
These are just a few ideas to get you inspired to get off your booty and turn your space into a high vibrational temple! I can testify that when you use one or all of these ideas to increase the vibration of your space, you will notice how much more magickal you are. If there is something you’ve been waiting to arrive, get ready for it to arrive at your doorstep!
COLOR
People are afraid of color — they stay neutral because they haven’t take the time to get to know their spirit. To attain a high vibrational state, you must get to know yourself… deeply. Color brings out certain aspects of our personality (and spiritual personality). And there is NOT bad color.
For example:
If you want to be more bold and confidence in your business or career, try adding RED to your home decor. Yes, RED. People are so scared of red because red is powerful, passionate, and BOLD.
TEXTURE
Texture is often overlooked by many when creating a home they feel inspired by, but texture creates DEPTH. Are you looking to have more meaningful relationships in your life? You need more texture! Texture can be found in small things like the pages of an old book, a smooth glass vase, or stone statue with a rough hand. Texture brings out things in the unconscious mind, like you wouldn’t believe!
For example:
If you’re looking for more meaning in your life, texture has a way of bringing things from the past to the surface so you can better understand their lesson. You may start to remember things from long ago or be reminded of what you love. Texture tends to bring about nostalgia, taking you back to times or even past lives, where these textures were once familiar.
PATTERN
Another feared part of intentional design is pattern. Pattern holds powerful energy, especially if its design is in sync with how you want to feel. Natural patterns like landscapes, plants, floral, sacred geometry, stripes, plaids, checkerboard invoke a calming effect, while artistic patterns like mosaic, scenic toile, and abstract prints are great for accessing the subconscious mind where chaos is the natural order.
For example:
I love old world design, but it doesn’t quite feel like me if I create solely with this style. This is why I choose abstract paintings with chaotic patterns that exude no real logic. This help remind me to “think outside the lines” (I tend to be an over-thinker, duh).
DESIGN
Design has to do with the arrangement of furniture, shapes of your chosen decor items like your bed frame, style of dining chairs, or the lampshades you choose for your lighting. Design is so fun once you really get into it! Design offers an opportunity to really express yourself, which can be hard at first. Fair warned: the more you embrace design, your individuality starts to shine through! Get ready for a truly transformational process!
For example:
I LOVE to lighting. It might seem like just a standard thing everyone needs in their home so they can see in the dark, but lighting is so much more than practical. It’s a vibe. It generates warmth and adds a mood to every room. But what I also love about lighting is the infinite design ideas for mixing and matching lamp bases and lamp shades. You don’t need to use the lamp shade that comes with the lamp you bought! Get creative! Decorate it with pattern, fabric, or find a vintage lampshade that creates juxtaposition.
COMFORT
This might go without saying, but a high vibrational temple should be comfy! You don’t want to snuggle up to a good book or your favorite furry friends without some comfort! This is why finding the right pillow inserts, quilts, blankets and throws, bath towels and practical items that feel good to the spirit is so important!
For example:
I literally won’t buy a pillow unless it’s the right kind of “comfort”. Cheap pillow Inserts are a big NO for me. It’s not just about style, it’s also about function and a high vibrational space requires a bit of both. Making sure things are clean is also a part of comfort. Make sure to wash your vintage vases and nicknacks before putting them on display. Clean things are high vibrational and add a touch of comfort and class to any room!
THE 4 ELEMENTS
A room deficient in one or more of the 4 elements is going to lower the vibration of your temple. Take a look around your home and notice which element is lacking? Is your home filled with wood dressers, marble coffeetable, bamboo decor items, and green plants? This is an overabundance of the Earth element. To create a truly balanced space, try mixing in the other 3 elements: water, air, fire.
How to add the elements into your high vibrational temple:
-
To include more water into your space, try adding blue and green hues, ocean scenes, chalices, vases with water and flowers.
-
To include more air into your space, think of adding metal decorative items like metal picture frames, metal statues, gold rimmed plates, mirrors.
-
To include more fire into your space try adding bolder colors like oranges and reds, CANDLES, lamps/lanterns, bright colored flowers, fabrics.
-
To include more earth into your space, buy some plants, natural color palate including neutrals, mix and match woods, dried flowers, incense.
VIGNETTES
And my personal favorite are creating vignettes everywhere in your space to make every nook and cranny of your space a total vibe! From decorative areas like where you keep your jewelry to your meditation space to your office desk, vignettes are easy to create and generate loads of creativity. Be sure when creating a vignette that you think about size, depth, and height.
For example:
I love to decorate my high vibrational space with books. This is how I can achieve different heights in a vignette to add interest and visual appeal. I also love extra tall statues, tall lamps, or even the extra long silk flower branches in vases to bring the eye up, up, and away. You might also try creating a small gallery wall where the picture frames and artwork climb all the way to ceiling or hang your drapery rod 6+ inches above the window pane (just make sure your drapes touch the ground — you might need to purchase extra long drapes), but it’s such a vibe!
Creating a high vibrational space is not only fun, creative, and acts as a magickal device to calling in your desires, you’ll also experience better health, more fun, and keeping things tidy and clear of clutter won’t feel like a chore — it’ll finally feel like an exercise to clear the mind and activate all the chakras!
